Philosophy
Nature knows best.

I recognize that the key to beautiful, glowing skin is to start from within.

Current treatment options have the tendency to shoot the messenger without first asking where it came from. They treat symptoms without addressing root causes and often without regard for preserving your skins long term health. I believe the first step to achieving skin health is through understanding and addressing the causes and symptoms related to skin aging.

What happens as your skin ages?

1. Loss of collagen and elastin
2. Decline in skin food from loss of circulation
3. Decreased immune repair of damage
4. Increased scar tissue deposits
5. Slowed epidermal turnover

Even though the signs of aging are first seen on the surface, aging primarily occurs in the deeper layer of the skin called the dermis. The dermis receives all of the food supply (vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants) and then distributes them to the top layer of the skin (epidermis). It accomplishes this through blood flow and circulation. Blood flow is the skin's only source of food and immune support. As we get older we receive fewer antioxidants to protect us and our skin dramatically declines in structure and health.Aging and many other skin conditions are worsened by the decline in blood flow. This often starts in our twenties and worsens over time. Essentially, our skin begins to starve which causes it to thin and contributes to poor overall health. This weakening of the skin causes it to reveal damage more prominently and increases our susceptibility to further breakdown. The result is what we often refer to as the signs of aging.
